1940 SEASON REVIEW
The Yankees had a very dissapointing 1940 season, finishing only one game ahead of the last place Senators in the American League. New York had a decent pitching staff led by Claude Passeau and future star Bob Feller. The Yankees offense and bullpen, however, could be described as nothing but dismal. The Yankees had no player hit over .300 and only a handful of players hit over .250. The New York bullpen managed only 13 saves all season with no bullpen pitcher having under a 4.50 ERA.

The outlook for the 1941 season does not look good for the Yankees. The Yankees did little to address their main problems. They were unable to sign anyone during free agency and while they did draft pitcher Dave Koslo, who should only help their starting rotation, no offensive or bullpen support was gained. The Yankees can only hope for someone to have an offensive breakout year, otherwise expect the Yankees to finish near the bottom of the American League, yet again.
